Preliminary Ratings: Wednesday 08/16/2017

NBC edged out ABC for a Wednesday night win. A new AMERICA'S GOT TALENT was the #1 program of the night, collecting 10.7 million viewers and a 2.1 rating in Adults 18-49. That is down about 2.5 million viewers and around 20% in the demo, from a normal Tuesday night airing. After AGT, the new sitcom, MARLON premiered to relatively soft numbers. The 9 PM episode lost 50% of it lead in viewership 40% in the A18-49 demographic. Episode two, at 9:30 PM, lost another 25% in total viewers and a quarter of the demo audience.

ABC's annual airing of the CMA FEST music event kept right with NBC, grabbing 5.7 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in Adults 18-49. That is even from last year's show.

CBS took third with BIG BROTHER and a two hour SALVATION. BIG BROTHER posted near season average numbers, while SALVATION continues to loose 75% of it lead in.

FOX closed out the first season of THE F WORD and based on its ratings, we may not see a season two. Just 1.8 million viewers tuned into the finale, which was just over half the lead in audience MASTERCHEF delivered.
