Preliminary Ratings: Wednesday 10/07/15

FOX sweeps the night, solely on the strength of the hit drama, EMPIRE. The third episode of the season collected 13 million viewers, a 4.7 rating in the A18-34 demo and a 5.5 rating in the A25-54 demo. EMPIRE grew over 125% from its ROSEWOOD lead in, in total viewers and even more in the three demo categories. ROSEWOOD continues to fall and was third in its time slot in the A18-49 demo. Episode three sets a new season/series low.

ABC edged CBS for the #2 spot of the night, in all three demos. The difference was the 9 p.m. hour as the two sitcoms topped CRIMINAL MINDS.  MODERNFAMILY was the #2 program of the night, in the demo ratings.

CODE BACK may be on life support, losing close to 30% in the A18-49, from last week's premiere, and dropped 1.8 million total viewers. Luckily, CBS has held back some of its veteran dramas and can easily swap out a PERSON OF INTEREST, if needed.

NBC was a clear 4th place network on the night, with the only bright spot being the win at 10 p.m. MYSTERIES OF LAURA tied ARROW for last place in the A18-49 demo and was a clear 5th place in the A18-34 demo. LAURA was the lowest rated show of the night in the A18-34 demo.
