US Box Office Results: May 22 - 25, 2015

The four day, Memorial Day weekend produced five movies that took in over $25 million each, lead by Disney's TOMORROWLAND. The sci-fi movie took in $41.7 million, in its first four days of release. TOMORROWLAND has a long way to go to recoup its $190 million production budget.

The weekend's other new release, POLTERGEIST, also opened to disappointing numbers. The remake of the 1982 original only generated $25.5 million in total grosses. That should land it in the neighborhood of a total domestic take of around $70 million.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON passed the $410 million mark, making the the #14 movie of all-time. It has a good chance of getting to the $10 spot, by this time, next week.
