Primetime Cable Ratings: January 20, 2015

The STATE OF THE UNIONS and, specifically FOX NEWS CHANNEL, dominated the tuesday cable ratings. From 8 to 11 p.m., FOX placed six programs in the top 10, including the top five over all. The news network averaged about 3.5 million viewers, over the three hours of coverage before, during and after the speech. CNN's best rating for the night was 2.6 million viewers, but they did have a better A18-49 rating.

With all the political programming, FIXER UPPER, on HGTV, was the top cable series of the night, bringing in three million viewers and a 0.8 rating in Adults 18-49. It was by far the highest rated episode of the young second season, topping the previous week by more than 700,000 viewers and 33% in the demo.

THE HAVES AND HAVE NOTS dropped in the ratings, from last week's episode. The series lost 300,000 viewers, but stayed flat in the demo.
