The 24 hour digital network, CBS News, is eying an election day launch of the network. Look for the free channel on either CBSNews.com and mobile apps.
PHANTOM OF THE OPERA - The series:
ABC is looking at a possible TV series based on the popular musical, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. The series would not be a musical.
FRANKENSTEIN lives:
FOX has ordered a pilot based on a modern telling of FRANKENSTEIN. Universal is also working on relaunching all of its movie monsters into a new modern film series, all set in the same universe, much like Marvel has created.
CBS to launch oldies digital subchannel:
the Eye Network, along with Weigel Broadcasting, will be launching a new digital subchannel, DECADES, in 2015. The MeTV and Antenna TV competitor will feature programs from the vast CBS library of shows and movies.
Yet another potential FOX series based on another property:
FOX i looking at a TV version of the hit film HITCH, from 2005. Will Smith, the star of the original movie, is behind the TV comedy project. FOX has only commited to a script to be written.
POP scores first scripted series:
POP, the cable network formally known TV Guide Network, has scored the comedy SCHITT'S CREEK, starring Eugene Levy and Cathrine O'Hara. The first 13 episodes will debut in early 2013
TLC renews series:
WELCOME TO MYRTLE MANOR has been renewed for a third season, by TLC. The season will debut sometime in early 2015.
FOX order pilot based on popular comic book:
FOX has ordered a drama pilot based on the world of ARCHIE comic books, currently titled RIVERDALE. Warner Brothers TV is producing the project, hoping for a 2015-16 slot on the FOX schedule.
New LATE LATE SHOW sets premiere date:
CBS has announced that the LATE LATE SHOW WITH JAMES CORDEN will premiere on March 9, 2015. That is about three months after Craig Ferguson end his run with the late night talker. No word on what CBS will do in between the two shows.
Less CSI for CBS:
CBS has cut its order of the 15th season of CSI from 22 episodes to 18 episodes. The reason for the order cut is for CBS to find room for all the mid-season series it has to find room within the schedule.
Low rated FOX series gets script order:
The low rated Wednesday night series RED BAND SOCIETY has been give an order of four more scripts from FOX.
SyFy Orders more FACE OFF:
The reality competition series will have an eighth season, on SyFy, starting in January, 2015.
THE BRIDGE is closed:
Second season drama THE BRIDGE has been cancelled by FX
Z-NATION is renewed:
First year zombie series Z-NATION has been renewed for a second season, by SyFy.
CW pass out full season orders:
THE FLASH and JANE THE VIRGIN received full season orders, of 22 episodes each, by the CW.
