CW Weekly Ratings: August 18 - 22, 2014

The first of the fall shows premiered on the CW, as AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL collected 1.1 million viewers for the cycle 21 premiere. The number is relatively soft, for the CW, considering the show lost over 40% of the lead in from WHOSE LINE. The premiere was down 38% in viewership and 17% in the A18-49 ratings. The franchise is old and worn out. At the very least, the CW should shelve the series for a few seasons, if not just outright cancel it.

MASTERS OF ILLUSION posted it's best numbers of the summer, getting 1.4 million, on a Friday night. Magic looks to be the direction the CW should head in the near future. Perhaps develop a drama around a young Illusionist?

For the week, the CW averaged 904,000 viewers and a 0.3 rating in Adults 18-49. That is down about 10%, from last week's viewer totals, but even with the A18-49 rating. The second half of the summer is definitely working out much better than the rocky first half did.
